A mid-rise multi-unit live/work housing complex in La-Brea, Los Angeles.
Following the grid of the site the architecture takes form with high consideration to site conditions such as the grid, sun orientation, both vehicular, and pedestrian traffic, as well as noise generated from the urban environment.
The conceptual drive of the project is in regards to the density of the urban context. The Units of Dense-City vary from 1- 3Bedroom units. The placement of these units is though of as a gradient of density along exposition, going from the smaller to the larger units, east to west.Density is represented by using lines that architecturally translate to walls/and floors that intersect vertically and horizontally.
